He's winding you up mate its the standard SV noob question. "how good is a G-Pack".

Engine mods for the SV are costly and the gains aren't that good. Most people on here will recomend a fruity sounding exhaust, fuel are very good. Then some suspension work.

Let him wind you up then, the SV is going nowhere near an R6 power wise. However they are great bikes and you should be able to keep up most of the time. I've had both an SV and a super sports 600 and to tune the SV to the level of my 600 would have probably cost the purchase price of the bike again.

tell him to bring his R6 down to Anglesey circuit and I'll show him the dust from the back of my SV.

If you get the suspension done you'll be equipped to have loads of fast road fun.

either linear springs and emulators for the front or a GSXR front end

and

Nitron/ohlins shock for the rear or a ZX6r shock if you're on a budget.

vtwins are rated differently. 60bhp v-twin is roughly equal to 90bhp on an IL4. So your 69bhp vtwin 650 should totally waste his 90-odd bhp IL4 600. Especially over 100mph. The extra 2 cylinders only slow things down. Dunno why they fit them, tbh.

Only problem with that is an R6 isnt a 90 odd bhp bike is it? they range in power from 118bhp for the early ones up to 133bhp for the newest. the SV isnt going to touch an R6 but then again its not designed to is it.

Must admit they might have also contributed to the extra 20 bhp I have over stock.

I'm thinking of fitting an orange side-stand plate next. I hear they give about 7-10bhp
