Dave,
Thankyou for your input.

You say that test rides are not always possible, so would you buy a bike that you have never ridden?
Theres no point in someone saying that the daytona is a better bike than the zx6 or that the gsxr is a better bike than an r6 etc.
Also if you let us know the model / year of the versions you are looking at some people may be able to give you their opinion. There are a few different ZX636's for example. Some were good sport tourers (A1P), some were headbangers (B1H) etc, etc.

I didn't test ride a single one of the 8 Motorbikes I have bought 5 of them were bought based on reviews and the 2 'peds & 125 were just bought cause they were cheap.

But it would help if he gave an idea of what he was looking for in a bike.

I want either a ZX6R B1H or Daytona 600 but open to sugestion.
I want something more pwerful than the SV650s (2000 y) I have now.
Use mainly for commuting (10-15 miles round trip) and the occasional long distance ride/weekend blast with the missus/mates.
Needs to keep up with an R6.
Used mainly on A roads and twisties.
Must be reliable and all year round friendly.
I like sporty/sports tourers.
I'm wanting to spend around £3000 inluding selling mine for around £1500.
I have outgrown the SV and it's too uncomfortable.
I'm 5.8" 1/2 and weigh 12.5 stone.

Does this help?

Dont buy the d6 then, youll never touch the floor.
The seat is very high and slopes up towards the back making a high seat even higher.

Seriously? I've sat on one in a show room and could put both feet down almost flat... so I guess could be a little big? but I did test ride the 675 which was perfect in size, just not in price
