The white special editions are really nice, but the chrome rearsets and pillion pegs would have to go straight in the bin. They are the only chrome on the bike and look out of place.

I've test rode a 675 and apart from the power which is awesome, it's tinny like 125 tinny it's very thin.

I think it's mostly aluminium and steel...

It's thin because the geometry was designed to be like a race bike, same as the 1098/848 ducatis

Daytona 675 is a sublime bike, but far too much for the road IMO, especially the island roads

If I were going to get a track bike I'd buy one though

I tested a 675 and I'm in love with it, saving up for one as I speak

After my SV was written off (and before it was reborn, like a pheonix, rising from the ashes), I test rode a 675 from Bill Smiths in Chester. They were doing the K8 bike on an 09 plate for about £1,500 off rrp as I recall.

It was a great ride, but I just felt that I couldn't bear commuting on it all through winter and stuck with the SV. I sometimes wish I'd gone for it now (especially after doing a track day), but then I remind myself how uncomfy it would be on the commute (and a waste) and I'd have been mortified if I'd binned such a nice bike on the track...

That is the other reason I don't get one, it would seem such a waste to not use it on the track but I know I would push things on the track and can't justify the risk of binning it.

I think I'll stick to the SV700 and NC35 trackbikes, at least I wouldn't cry (so much) if I was to drop those.
