Get well soon viney, I'm glad your ok Fair enough to consider if its worth riding over winter, but in fairness aswell, this was one of those situations. It could have happened in summer on a wet summers day...

went through a similar ordeal when I was told there was a break in my vertabrae, 8 xrays and a ct scan later was given the all clear on the back front. Scared me though.

On the subject of the car involved, I'm thinking about buying a Nissan Note for the wife. Would you recommend one?

Ironically I was saying to my other half last night, that if i go back to the city I am not doing the winter ride again, its just too much these days, getting older, rain coming in your visor, rear lights looking like starts, the cold, the idiot drivers, its just too much, im giving in... For now, I have no choice.

Apparently they have realy rubbish visibility out the side windows but the bumpes can do a fair bit of damage. HTH

no shame in fair weather riding. after dislocating my shoulder after a 25mph off i am thinking twice about using the bike for commuting through winter. not worth the risk i reckon

I just can't belive they gave a parking ticket :S. Unbelivable. Makes absoulutly no sense atall, but then again what does nowadays. Next you'll get one for being stuck in a non-moving traffic jam.

Viney, I've a spare lid in the garage, you need to have wee head for it to fit though, got it for the then fiance to wear but once she decided she wanted to go pillion it had to be replaced by a colour coordinated one.
while since ive looked but think its an agv something size small.
