I understand that Keith I was just curious whether most people tap into an existing circuit or go directly to the battery for the power.

I think I've decided for myself now. Makes sense to go direct rather than potentially jeopardize another circuit.

Only two logical places, from the battery or directly after the main fuse. I wouldn't try to run a high current heater on an existing circuit.

Just my thoughts,

Thanks to everyone for the advice. As suggested I have contacted Spannerman and his prices are indeed a lot more reasonable than those I was quoted by the chain garages, so am going to go with that option.
