This is why the banks love for us to use the internet banking facility tho you see...its absolves them of any mistakes that we make. if it was one of their staff then they would have to reimburse you but if we do it ourselves they can just wash their hands of it.

Tis true. Not everyone is so bad though: I once wrote to a bank to request they contact their customer to ask for a repayment in a similar scenario (except on a corporate not personal basis). The recipient got in touch with me straight away, to complain their bank hadn't refunded it as soon as they received my letter asking for it back!

can you not go the the branch first thing in the morning before they open for trading and tell them to stop like a cheque...
since there not 24 hour banking...

I reckon the account number wont exist mate, but do everything you can as soon as you can to get it back, goodluck!

The receiving account was opened over the phone/net don't know where they even have any branches. The sending account's nearest branch is about 5 miles away and I'm supposed to be onsite 8am-5pm tomorrow.

ta, 'flipping' hope so!

My ******** manager sent my first wage packet to the wrong account number (which didn't exist) and i just told them what account number it went to, told them how much, and got it sent to the right place.

If it's a correct account number then i think the other party has to agree to it. If they spend it, that's theft, but if they just ignore you for a period of time or something there's nothing you can do... i think O.O
