Well, no, any kind of hydrocarbon fumes would be bad near any possible source of ignition...

Paraffin isn't very volatile at all, don't worry yourself about it.
Try local motor factors for the clips.

I think you are referring to Corbin clamps
But most places simply call them spring wire hose clips. You can then get the wider spring steel variety that tend to be used for fuel, ebay spring hose clips

At the price Ebay sellers I'll carry on using zip ties, which seem to be less harsh on the hose and are free to me.
