i agree with what your saying, i think up to 17 if you sleep with some one thats 15 and your both consenting then nothing should be done about it, a slap on the wrist and thats it, but if your 18 or over and sleep with some one underage then you should be done for it as you are classed as a adult

but i think i could get a bit confusing and stuff so i can see why its just one rule for every one

The whole point of the "age of consent" is that below this, you cannot give consent, as you're not deemed old enough to know what you're doing. So the 14 year old is not consenting, by law, and therefore commits no crime.

It was a different guy over 25 every week, she used to come on to them in pubs and basically went out with them as a result of being a nubile female who was offering herself. She was a slapper!

Anyway that's irrelevant, the point I was trying to make with that sentence is that she was very sexually active 15 yr old and that as her peers at her same age we didn't view these 25-35 year old men as paedophiles, whereas I know my 14 and 16 year old cousins now would find that kind of relationship very creepy.

The scenes in Trainspotting, where Renton sleeps with the schoolgirl, can show how easily it can happen to a man in his late teens or twenties.

agreed. I spose with the word "consent" there's both a "normal" and a legal definition, and they often don't match.

Nevertheless it's up to the 16 year old boy to know what the law is and obey it. He should know that she can't legally give consent for what they are about to do, unless she's claimed that she's older. I do realise that in practice, there would be other things running through his mind.

lol, then theres the thing that he may not know that because shes under age she cannot give consent, i didn't know that when i was 15/16 i knew that it was illegal but all way thought well as long as we both consent its all ok
