mice quite often take up residence inside washing machines. You will know that this is the case if you find droppings in the soap tray dispenser drawer thingy (technical term)...start setting your traps...humane ones are safest to ensure that the cat doesn't get caught....

Thanks Stingo - I won't be able to walk past ours now without checking for mouse poo in the soap drawer thingy! I can imagine the strange looks I'll get from my wife when I explain it already...

Cheer up Ed - be thankful that you live in one of the nicer parts of the country rather than the expensive hell that is Buckinghamshire.

aww Ed- what a shame..

-

eat a live frog first thing in the morning-- and nothing worse will happen to you all day ..

I feel for you - maybe you can get the unit re glazed at a local glass place?
Mouse trap ? (they like chocolate apparently)
the wires.. wet wipes- rubber gloves and some vic or toothpaste under your nose as you do it
work- no can hlep- resigning ya cant stop - unless its a ploy for more money eh.. be positive- maybe you cantake on 2 solicitors part time and increase the flexibility of staff- . like my sister in law- she in Leeds so no help but she quali solicitor now got 3 kids and would love to do 20 hours a week somewhere to get back in to it- ..

give your mrs a cuddle and say sorry - Iknow it not your fault- but you love her Ed- we all know that from how you admire her on here-... she just a home maker and of course as stressed as you about the business and implications of this solicitor leaving- ..

hope it all works out

E'r Ed
Get one of these humane mousetraps. Bait it up with peanut butter and await results

http://www.harrodhorticultural.com/H...ookie%5Ftest=1

I used one to catch mice that were raiding the rabbits food.

Wasn't always humane though

Cheap mousetrap..

A milk bottle set at a slight angle with a bit of bait inside. Mouse goes into bottle via a 'ramp', couple of paperback books, but can't get out because glass is too slippy.

Works every time.

Alternatively rub a couple of Boy Scouts together and burn the house down - end of mouse problem.

I feel embarrassed about this thread

Things got better today.

We devised a workaround for the leaver, quite radical and it will take everyone by surprise, but it will work well

Cat poo cleared up

The TV works It's getting old but I don't want to replace it just yet.

Cat (she's called Dorothy) caught the mouse and chewed its head off Left body on the doormat, waiting for us when we got home. I have yet to find the head

And Anne and I have kissed and made up.

Ain't life grand
