Which bit are you going to Tim? You should be able to pick up winter sports/thermal gear very cheaply at this time of year. And the Gap is usually about 2/3 of the price that it is in the UK.

oh yeah, McDonalds is so cheap, they pay you to eat it.

You can also mail order stuff to your hotel

Go to a clothing shop and replace all your underwear/socks/t-shirts - Walmart used to to pretty good quality for not much money.

Walmart is brilliant.
Everytime i go, i buy a watch to wear for work for around $13, they last ages.
Had one of them for 4 years and in my job they get covered in plaster, adhesive, silicone, everything, so resilient.

The few times I've been to the states I've arrived with just hand luggage. Go shopping, get a nice cheap case and fill it with clothes for little money.
As said earlier, gadgetry isn't really much cheaper than UK.
I used to buy chemicals for my water bed as well, they were $4 a bottle compared with about £20 over here.
Also vitamins and drugs (legal) are cheap. I pick up some wicked migrane tablets for a few $ for a 250 pack.

Just dont buy prescription drugs over there
My wife had an allergic reaction to a cold sore and we went to the hospital over there, the drugs they prescribed were $180
Bloody worked though, claimed it back on travel insurance so not all bad.
