Funnily enough I went out yesterday with danglies on, I've misplaced one somewhere now

I normally wear small hoops if I know I'll be on the bike for a while i.e. a rideout or a weekend). Studs are a pain as they can press into your head when the helmet's on. Do you have a buff neckscarf or something? If you put that over your head and pull it down so it covers the back of your head and your ears you should be ok. Providing the buff is a thin material. Otherwise? Just leave them out

Don't have any in my ear anymore but I used to have rings in the top of my ear whne I raced MX and never really had any issue. Just make sure there is nothing they can get caught on in the lining. rings have no sharp edges etc to get stuck so long as they are closed.

I used to wear eight rings in my left ear, three in my right, nose ring, an eye brow stud and and neck bar, add to this on on special occasions (like a date with a lovely lady!) and I had my nose chain on too. To be honest it got too much when I started biking on my own bike and had to concentrate, so I just took a load out and those I kept I replaced with plain silver hoops that have tiny wire hinges. So these days I have three or four in my left ear, two in my right and just the one in my nose. I feel naked!

I have a nice Vemar flip front helmet and it has an internal dark visor, when I pop into the garage, I lit the front and raise the dark visor, that way they can see my face and all is OK. I keep my hair tied back, it is quite long and almost down to my bum, but also tucked down the back of my jumper or jacket, if it is trailing out behind me, it turns into dreads, which I hate. I tried dreads for a week when I was twenty and it just did not suit me, that took some brushing to remove.

Occasionally I ride the little bike with head phones in and there is no way I am taking my lid off with all of this lot going on under it, it takes too long to put it all back and the poor soul waiting for the pump after me ages by a decade!

Just my input, hope that it is of some help.

I do have one of those thin neck warmer things, trouble is it gets pulled down when I put my lid on unless i pull it right up and tuck it in above my ears, which I find uncomfortable.

Looking at my helmet, the padding is thicker nearer the bottom underneath where the ears go, so I have to pull the helmet edge outwards to pull it on. Is that normal ?

Yeah I think I need to get some of the small round loop sleeper type ones. I probably should have got them ages ages for sleeping in but its never bothered me much till now.

Hmm I just put the buff on till it covers my face then pull the fron down so it sits just above my chin then pull it a little at the back so it really only covers the back on my head. Works for me but it does depend on how tightly fitted your lid is.

I don't think it matters whether or not its normal, as long as you can get it on and it doesn't feel too tight once on. If I have an earpiece in or earphones I usually pull the straps outwards to squish the padding temporarily so my ears fit in as I pull the helmet over my head, thats pretty normal

Neck tubes and buff things don't make a blind bit of difference. I wear an afghan scarf, or a windstopper tube when I'm out, if your earrings have little snaggy things then they will come off regardless.

Yes they do. Might not keep the earrings from digging into your head when the lid is on but if they come out when the lid comes on then at least they'll do so inside the buff.

Erm....forgive me if I am being a little bit blonde here...

But why can't you just take your earrings out when you go for a ride...and put them back in when you stop??

Well hun, if you can find all the earrings that have still gone missing after wearing these items, then you'll probably find about six pairs of mine kicking about
Thats why I wear smooth hoops with balls these days. Haven't lost any for around two years.
