True, its just the tight bumpy narrow turns are where i lack the most, the rear end is bouncing or skipping across / round the bend and just makes me feel like its gonna give even though im sure it wouldnt.

Not the most confidence inspiring of things.

That weight you are well above working range, you will probably have that much sag you'll be using link where it's really progressive and will feel harsh and like the tyre's kicking up off every little bump. Hence the hopping wide sensation.

If you are changing bike no point modifying it though.

At times thats exactly how it feels, i have increased pre load a little and shock has done 3200 miles.
Ralph has put in a zx10 shock which has helped his cause and hes about same weight as me i think.

Soft spring is not kicking the tyre back down fast enough, or, when it does kick down, the lack of rebound damping means the momentum of wheel is uncontrolled.

ZXR shock should work. No idea why all pointy owners go looking for soft shocks like later GSXR.
Also good length. More ride height is good.

However you should bank on putting stiffer springs in front to ensure balance.

I would get some of those cheap emulators from states,* or look into cartridges/new front end.

*I THINK Zoran at TWF is making adapters to fit cheap emulator to 2gen front end. If not there are a few people here who could provide.

I have zero confidence in my bikes abilty to go round a corner at speed keeping the line i want it to keep, i know its my short givings not the bikes.
If i can learn that on a track my bike will do x amount of speed round a corner, while on the road i know that if come maybe within 20 % of that limit i should be ok, given the right conditions obviously.
Its defo mental with me, if i had a youthful no fear attitude like i used to have there wouldnt be much of a problem i think.
Are you sure you haven't just grown common sense? Don't worry yourself so much about getting big lean or massive speed on corners. Look for the limit point and get used to how that works, it is a great help for smooth cornering. Smooth is good!

No, my road sense imo is good, been a car driver for 21 years so that helps, i use limit point all the time on roads i dont know especially.
I dont have the confidence to carry speed into a corner without thinking im gonna run wide.
Dont get me wrong i dont wanna do the speeds some people i have ridden with do, but i wanna know if i get into a corner which is tighter than expected for example i will have the confidence to just lean more where now i have got into the habit of using rear brake when the limit point is not going away from me or getting nearer.
But it became plainly obvious on last weeks MW6 rideout weekend that im far behind everyone else, so need to do something about it.
I could just get miles under my belt and im sure it will come naturally, but i could get better quicker i think with some 3rd party tuition.

Default Re: Anyone done Donington circuit based training?

Doing any training at Donington right now would be a waste of time, unless you're thinking of entering a supermoto race - half the circuit has been dug up and has no tarmac.
