May explain it!!! Mine does 200 max between oils and if i can its cleaned and oiled weekly.

I think the SV owners manuals says the chain should be lubed every 300 miles.

Just loosen your chain off again. You haven't adjusted it on the tightest spot.

Should be good for another 20,000m.
