Mine does exactly the same, until i do the chain and lube that lever joint.

well i recently cleaned my chain and lubed it all up, so its not that i hope.

this is pretty damn embarissing and could theoretically be the problem. i mostly ride my bike to college, and jus wear trainers as I dont fancy walking like some cowboy. therefore it's most likely my limp ankled gear changes. maybe i ought to wear my boots more often what a d**khead.

I have a scottoiler that I fill up about once every fortnight.

Might check the lever linkage

check the chain and clutch
and the gear lever posistion as it may be to low for u
