In 1909 I announced one morning, without any previous warning, that in the future we were going to build only one model, that the model was going to be "Model T," and that the chassis would be exactly the same for all cars, and I remarked:
"Any customer can have a car painted any colour that he wants so long as it is black."

It is likely that Ford was being somewhat playful in making that remark. Model Ts were, in fact, offered in a choice of colour early in the car's lifetime around 1908, and again after 1926. The statement was true when Ford's biography was published, in 1922, and when he was cutting costs by using a type of quick-drying paint that was only then available in black.

So being a 1910 model, you can get away with any colour and not upset the true die-hards. Apart from pink.

Awesome car, amazing to see such an old car still working at 100 years old. Never seen one first hand but would love to, if purely for imagining the history of such a vehicle, the jobs it has done, the people it has carried, the distance it has travelled.

Thats cool man, the first motor car for the masses.

The guy who owned the building firm i worked for while at college in the late 80's had a vintage rolls royce, proper 1930's or something it was, as well as an old aston martin.

Some serious money involved in the really old classics.

1910 model T van, hand crank, dashboard consists of a amp metre and a choke cable , throttle is on the wheel and to engage drive you have to push a sequence of 3 pedals on the floor to get the desired movement. It didn't run as they had taken the battery away as there is absolutely NO security on it what so ever, doors just have catches on them . The whole thing minus the chassis and engine ect is made of wood.... cabin, seats, dash, floor, body... everything, even the floor in teh back is floorboards that you pull up like in a house to get under . As far as i can tell from the workmanship its all original

really was stunning to see up close and personal, humbling to have be going over such an old machine and to see the craftsmanship, well for me anyway

apparently he's got a mint saloon coming in soon
Spooky, i saw a Model T van yesterday trundling along the road. it looks well small compared even to the Micra that was behind it
