What a bumbag, things like this really annoy me with fleabay, like someone else said he had a few days to spot the alleged mistake, did he not look at the ad at all over the week?
Someone has pm'd him and offered him more money so he has told you to whistle. May his testicles rot and fall off. |

We had this recently, Akrapovic exhaust on for £250 ending on Sunday. We thought we would buy it for the CBR, the seller ended the sale early (5 hours to go...and yes it had been on for over a week already) and relisted it 9 minutes later with a starting bid of £450!!!!
Initial ad: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT 9 mins later: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...STRK:MEWAX:VRI Replied to query saying that they had accidently listed it with a start price too low for what they wanted....Ebay did nothing! After hearing this and other stories I am beginning to wonder if Ebay is still the bargain way to buy or sell anything anymore! Last edited by Von Teese; 02-08-10 at 08:21 PM. |

Egg-f***ing-zactly. Would be nice if that was the actual outcome of putting in a dispute with e-bay.
As it is they don't seem to clamp down on these kinds of fools. Paypal, though, I have heard are pretty good at refunding money for non-delivery if you have already paid. Bad luck, and better luck next time. |

It really is not as good as it used to be. Most USM/Memory card prices were so over inflatred last time i looked and too many had the £10000000000 (ok exageration) postage on top of a 1p listing. |

yeah but when buying you look at the price including postage and buy the cheapest, no problemo.

thats because they dont need to refund the postage on the item if faulty / gets lost only the listing price. also i think Ebay only charge for the final selling price not including postage so keeps fees down

Ebay did nothing because the seller has done nothing wrong. He listed it trying to get some interest at the lower amount but this didn't happen so he relisted it at a higher price which was the price he wanted. He didn't break the rules as there were no bids on it, if it was cancelled with that time to go. Why do people expect to get something for way less than its "Worth" on Ebay? Its nice if it happens occasionally but it should be seen as a bonus, not a right. If everything sold for less than it's worth, Ebay wouldn't exist. C Last edited by Berlin; 03-08-10 at 08:18 AM. |

Oh come on, something is only worth what somebody is prepared to pay for it. I have had this argument with so many people over the years. They say it is worth x, my response is find somebody to pay that then. I will give you y. For example, just because you buy something from a fancy dealer with a couple of million invested in stock and a brand new showroom who has to add a huge mark up to cover his overheads. doesn't make that commodity any more valuable than if you had bought it from the box shifter operating from an old warehouse, buys in bulk and knocks out with minimal mark up. When I worked in insurance, I got fed up of the "It is worth x" just because it was a moggy minor etc. No it would be worth it if it was in concourse condition, been looked after and had a full paper trail, that is a rust bucket shed that should never have been on the road. Vendors normally dream of pie in the sky, reality is nothing has a value, unless some one wants it. Ebay exists because it enable joe public to easy auction goods, irrespective of who the vendor is. A business looking for an alternative market or joe public looking to get rid of unwanted stuff.

There is a big difference between watching an item and it being removed and winning one. If you wanted it you should have bid.
