Whilst that's very true - the point I was making is that you can get smaller/thinner batteries that might help. Not sure what it's like on the curvy, but on the pointy, the Gixer shock res. sticks up into the bottom of the left hand side of the battery tray as you look down on it (as if facing forwards on the bike).
This means that the battery just rests on top of the res. and is lifted an inch or so. Because the res. only protrudes less than an inch into the battery tray, the thinner battery I have bought will hopefully slide behind the res. allowing it to sit lower down and not touch the underneath of the riders seat (as it currently does). Although it's not a massive issue for me right now, I needed to buy a battery for another SV so thought I might as well get the thinner one for mine and re-use my old battery in the other bike. |
