Not sure how true it is, but apparently on average it takes 20 minutes of vehicle running time to just put back the battery charge from starting it up.
Maybe someone can confirm? Lee |

Well that's a bit vague and open ended, as it would differ between vehicles and also the type of journey

Well its snow and ice so I'm not using my bike, had I even tried to ride my it probally wouldn't have made down the road to my folks place its a frozen winter wonderland here.
What have I done with my bike? Well its on the trickle charger in the garage dirty as hell as my driveway is still snow covered... I'll clean it and go for a ride all in good time. Oh btw after left for a few as above it started first time, put some air in the tyres I was good to go. |

I'm getting a charger in the Sales, I had to start it up breifly just after the last bought of snow to top up the oil (forgot it took more after a filter change) and it took a lot longer to start than I would have liked. That was after 2 weeks or so standing...so come Spring, I fully expect it to not start at all.
I wonder, will it do any good to take the battery out even if I have nowhere in the house to leave it trickle charging? |

I never run my SV once it has been put away for winter, unless you get it properly hot by riding it a few miles all you are doing is filling the engine/exhaust with condensation. Keep the battery charged up and if the bad weather continues give it a good clean, dry it out as best you can without taking it out on the salt coated roads, then a light coating of ACF50 or WD40, whatever your choice to protect it.
