I always use a impact driver on the the choke screws if they are stubborn. Don't forget the choke plunder has rubber seals which may to weakened by the fluid.

Fortunately, mine get a coat of copper slip now before going back in (the screws- NOT the plungers!!).


Helps things along no end- as I found the other day when checking out the front choke...

Well. Got the new coil on yesterday. That's all sorted.

New plugs in.

Managed to dink the rad while getting the front plug out though. So I'm having to replace that as it's now leaking. Doh!

SV Spares do seem to be making a fair bit of cash out of me at the moment... I'm wondering if I'll be able to solder up the old rad when it's off though and have a spare one...

Bike still running a bit rough though. This may be due to muck in the front carb from when the blanking cap popped recently. The front choke plunger was covered in nasty black stuff. The plugs were filthy too.

Maybe the carbs need a clean...

Alloy is a pig to solder, one of those jobs it can work out cheaper to take it to a specialist.
