try and see if you've got a dental hospital near you-they patients for the newbies to practise on and you've a better chance of getting an anestist(you know what i mean) at them.

A mate of mine had to have his removed because they grew out wonky and were cutting into his cheeks.

My top ones have just finished coming through now and my bottom ones are emerging through the gum nice and straight

Apart from occasional toothache I've had no bad symptoms. Just hope they don't do the same as yours did husky, does sound painful!

If you're worried about having your wisdom teeth out, then don't. I can tell you all about what I've had done to my teeth, it'd make your hair stand on end and put you off going to the dentist for ever

But before my big tooth operation,I had one wisdom tooth out and another which was emerging underneath another, no pain no drama, just had it done under a general anesthetic.

If you're not sure, then go and see another dentist for a 2nd opinion

If all this turns out to be not wisdom tooth related then I will probably chicken out.

One thing that also worries me is since this ulcer has appeared, my bite has changed. Although I can only clamp my teeth fully shut right now by pulling my left cheek out, when I do it feels way out.

My back teeth on both sides are coming in contact with each other much sooner then they did before. I'm not sure how this is possible, and definately only since this ulcer came along. It feels as though if I squeeze my teeth shut my back ones are being pushed back into the gum, and after I release it feels as though they are almost readjusting themselves again. Sounds crazy I kniw but that's the only way I can describe it. Can't say I've felt anything like this ever before. Feeling is more so on the left side (same as ulcer) than the right, but definately on both sides.

I do need to see the dentist for peace of mind. Roll on tomorrow.

I was continually getting impaction - gums swelling over wisdom teeth etc. A lot of time was simply caused by a cut to the gum area by a crisp etc. However having been to the dentist recently they informed me both top ones needed extracting.

At first i was worried etc. However I knew that they needed to be taken out as one was rotting. Removal was far easier than I thought. The worst part was having the injections.....but after that......easy.

Not to alarm you, but you feel nothing.......all I can really say is the sound isn't good - like cracking a chicken wing. But other than that I think they are not too bad. The dentist did however say to me after - "At least I didn't have my knee on your chest wrenching them out".

In your case, if you need four taken out, then deffo go for full sedation. But if only one or two.....local is fine. As for after care.....people worry about "dry socket" a lot, but having chatted to a few people at work they said they smoked after a couple of hours of being out....but just smoked very light puffs and took twice as long...my boss said he kept a bottle of water with him, as soon as he finished a cig, would rinse his mouth.

Hope it all goes ok. Sure you will be fine. Paracetamol, Ibruprofen and Codein as a mix will be your best friend for first 12 hours. After that I just get annoyed when food gets stuck in the "hole" lol.

Cheers Drew.

If the dentist starts climbling on top of me I think I'll pass out, who needs to be sedated!

Very true. Whilst they were waiting for my anathestic to kick in....my dentist was called next door to a patient that had been there having wisdom teeth removed for one and a half hours because.......

On second thoughts you really don't want to hear the rest.
