Another update and it sounds good. He's had a couple of physio sessions which have gone well. Although his dad thinks that Chris's physio is actually a ladyboy but doesn't think Chris has realised this yet. I sent Chris a selection of Thai chat up lines by email a few days ago to try out on the nurses so perhaps he can see what reaction he gets with his physio.
