He took about 20 shunts to get the van into my drive. I reckon he had about an inch either side of the gate posts to drive through. I was trying to find my cam to video it but can't find where I put it. I did rather chuckle a few times. I even offered to drive it in for him, but he decided he could do it by himself. Some times you can't help people.
He's coming back tomorrow to get the rest of the slabs. I won't be there so told him to go ahead and load and go. I just hope my gate posts are still there when I get back. ![]() |

The average the payload of a 7.5 truck is 3-3.5t. If it has a tail lift it goes down further.

Normally the company who owns the truck gets a whacking huge fine too. Im constantly having to explain weights to my boss. He was adamant we were within weight (7.5 tonner) but the driver insisted to taking it to a weigh bridge. 9.2t it came out at!! And that was not including the 3 people and fuel that still needed to be added to it!!
They fine you for every kilo you are overweight but can't remember the rate.

Anyway, it was definitely only a 3.5 ton truck so massively overweight. |

Vans upwards can be weight and fined. Private and ones on hire not just commercial ones.
Also depends if your being dealt with by the Police or VOSA.

They guy came back on Saturday to take the rest of them. As he drove out of the drive he completely took out my gate post, snapping it clean in half where it was concreted into the ground.
