On a serious note, isn't shaving foam just soap? And doesn't soap dispel oil? Therefore you have probably just cleaned all of the oil out of your chain.
But then soap is also a lubricant?? Hence why it is used as shaving foam. The science in that conundrum is beyond me I am afraid. At least it smells nice though.
