Is the SV battery earthed against the frame?

I've fitted a stebel nautillus compact to mine, but requires splitting the horn from the compressor, which isn't as difficult as it sounds.

Googlefu it, or look on SvRider.com on how to do this
No it doesn't...the Stebel Nautlius can be used without splitting it.

Maybe on a Pointy

Plus splitting it means that you've only got the weight of the horn to worry about and not the compressor, which I secured under the passenger seat

Back of engine, right hand side, just to rear of clutch cover.

Relay connections

1. + connection from horn
2.- negative from horn
3. power from battery
4. power to horn

Then:-

Seperate wire from negative battery terminal direct to neg on horn

If getting a cheap replacement horn, a relay is probably overkill.

My SV has a Nautilus on it without relay, my Z750 has a Nautilus with a relay - but then, that also has the stock horn AND a Magnum on it...

+1 on the Stebel Magnum. I believe that Halfrauds sell them, or you can get one on line. You don't need a relay with the Magnum (I checked the manufacturers datasheet a couple of years ago to verify the power requirements), but some people prefer to fit one anyway. It's plenty loud enough, probably louder than most car horns and is the simplest solution as it just bolts on in place of the stock meeper. I fit one to every bike I buy.

? Try putting a wanted ad on here ?
Looks like a few have fitted Stebels & they're hardly likely to go back.
Not sure if Berlin fitted one on his racer.

So can the Magnum be plugged straight into the OEM horn connector?
