Putting things into perspective time wise. Our first moderator was persuaded to take the post by consensus of the group,as he worked in IT and on the computer all day,but that was when the Essex Lounge was initially set up and we met up at Leigh on Sea.
For about 2 years after that you would always have 10-12 people at a meet or Sunday morning ride.Obviously we no longer have all of the original members but some who are still here regularly attend on a Friday night. The others have familys, moved, changed jobs or may have given up biking altogether during the passage of time, who knows their reasons but nothing stays the same.

My point is:

I miss both moderators very much and would appreciate if you would treat us with your presence at one of the Essex lounge's meets once a month instead of making your ways to the SOho or Selkent meets. Maybe once a month just to be part of the community.

Then at least won't be any more reason to refer to the regulars as the small clique that meet every fridays. Phaaaaar we would be up 2 people instantly

It's not that I've been neglecting the Essex Lounge to go to Soho (Selkent is on a Wed so there's no conflict - but I haven't been going there either) - I just haven't been going out on a Friday night - something (often weather) has kept me in.

I'll do my best to be out this Fri just for you - how do fancy the Huntsman & Hounds (I really prefer this to The Hawk & Jim actually likes us too !) ?

I must say though that I reserve the right to change my mind if the wet weather that's forecast for the early hours of Sat comes along early !

I know what the problem is......

....you lot miss Pete, so sorry I stole him, but you can't have him back to give you all hugs and kisses. Why don't you all come to Yorkshire where you can share him......and have rideout meet, all at the same time

I haven't been to a Soho meet this year. I'm going to Selkent tonight specifically to see someone. I have been to the Hawk several times but it's a long way from me and I don't like it as a venue. The Huntsman and Hounds is much more welcoming. I also hope to get to the 8Ball diner one of these Wednesdays - it's just that work and life keep getting in the way. Hell I've only ridden the bike 3 times since last November!

I will try to get to an Essex meet soon but my week ends get filled up very quickly.

OOh, interesting.

This is how I see it. I have only been part of the site for just over a year now, and I can tell there is a lot of history/politics from the past that I obviously have not been involved in. I sense there is some "bad feelings" between certain members of this section and I dont know why, I dont particularly care tbh!

Everyone I've met I've liked, or not disliked maybe I should say.

My local meets are 8ball on Wednesday and on Friday's its either Hawk (Essex) or Soho lot.

Both are crap days for me (in fact every day is not guaranteed for me), due to the fact that I work late most days. The days I don't work late, I want to spend some time with my OH and kids. Nowt wrong with that I dont think. I have yet to attend a single 8ball/Hawk/Soho meet becuase of this.

I used to go for Sunday morning rideouts, to comfort cafe, even into the cold weather. Not been to one since for above reasons, bar Southend Shakedown.

The only time I get out to see people from the org are the "big" rideouts, like GM and AR so far.

I promise I will come to a meet soon (I have a particular date in mind actually, when I am free of Mrs and Kids for a week), but barring that, I doubt I'll ever be a regular.

By the way, I dont ever remember seeing Sunday rideouts posted here.

Been going to some of these when other commitments permit, like most of us with families it's hard to fit everything in.

There's been a couple usually last minute.

I have no problem with anybody regarding the past or present and often if we have a few together on a Friday and the weather is promising for the Sunday something will be suggested which is not always posted up.Other times it seems that as it is a last minute decision people can't make it.[I was guilty of putting something up late if the weather turned out nice unexpectedly]
I have posted up Sunday morning rides and either got no response or been sat at Boreham waiting on my Jack Jones so toddled off on my own, hence the lack of Sunday suggestions from me SO NOW i WAIT TO SEE WHAT OTHER SUGGEST DOING
