Had the same problem but in 5th, EBC Clutch springs sorted it dont understand why it seemed to be in just one gear though.

Do you mean flat spot or clutch slip?
A flat spot is when you open the throttle and the engine struggles to rev up because it wont deliver full power.
With clutch slip the engine will deliver power and the revs will increase but the road speed doesnt go up accordingly.

With mine the revs only go up slowly, only notice it sometimes but happens in all gears.

have you done anything like put baffles in or adjusted the idle mixture and accidently pulled a vac hose off

nope nope nope...
think it might be the clutch needing re-adjusted, me thinks the garage monkeys may have moved it to accommodate their monkey paws...

Will have a look on friday and see if it's still misbehaving.
