what iv done is used the angles of the horrible mild steel standard one, and made the same in ally, this makes a nice standard seating position, and the bike feels ballanced, its a fraction of the wieght to, im sure the higher up designes are good, but i just wanted a comfortable design for the isle of man, iv done a similar thing for the front to, im in the middle of designing reasets, il have to get this photo thing sorted , im very very thick with computers

I did the same but it was too low with the fireblade seat on. Now raised two inches but keeping the same seat angle, much better.

Absolutely, wish I had made my own years ago. Having fabricated one myself using a jig it really is an easy job for any sheet metal worker who can weld. The are some on the market that bend too easily after a spill.

thats right adie, to be honest iv still got mine bolted togeather, ( will weld it when i get round to it), to be honest bolting it togeather using high qualitiy bolt means if you do crash, you can un bolt the damaged bit , and then i would make the damaged bit, without forking out for another whole frame, at the end of the day adie , minitwins is suposed to be a semy buget class, like the cb500, but i can see folk spending lotts of dosh when the dont need to, its a very good idea to use the skill resources within the calss, nothing on a motorcycle chassis wise is rocket science,,,,rob

I eventually bought a second hand set of ard racing SV fairings, they are in need of some repairs but they are much beefier than the gsxr fairings!! So i suppose the question is what is the opinion on having to fully strip the old paint before i re-paint??
