I've dropped the SVs so many times, more than on one occasion publically! Usually though I manage to catch them just before that crucial point of no return

Done it twice, both less than 5mph, 1st on my bandit 650, couldnt pick that bugger up, someone ran out of a house and helped me, how embarrasing, 2nd time on my sv, WITH THE MISSES ON THE BACK HAHA, we both just putour feet down, but i leant on my throttle rocker and the bike was screaming at 9000rpm, then it just turned off and we put it on the floor, experiances i tell you, you have to laugh

My first bike was an Aprilia RS125 that always needed a bump start if left alone for a week or so, being around 19 at the time i thought i was cool runnin down the road with it and throwin my leg over to start it
One day I caught my foot on the tail as i jumped over and down i went, the bike never touched down though cos it landed on me! Lots of cursing and nervous laughter later i managed to get the bike upright and limped home again to take the car to work

I've never been brave enough to bump start a bike again after that without sitting on it an getting a push!

Man i loved that bike, wish i never got rid of it

know what you mean cdtrim, I had to bump start my fzr a few times when my voltage reg had fried the battery, how i jumped on without pushing it over still amazes me, as I was jogging down the road with it once it had fired up!!

Never again, it was seriously embarassing

I think i'd rather push it home now if I couldn't find a nearby hill to sit on it and roll it down!

A few years ago at Motorcycle City in Manchester my dad saw this bloke ride in on a Goldwing, he went to either park up or do a u-turn (can't remember which) and over the bike went. He inched it down and it took about 5 guys to pick it back up. He didn't even get off the bike, he just rode off after they picked him up!

My old man went through a phase of dropping his 02 VFR750. Once at Hartside biker's cafe in front of hundreds of folk. They were so busy laughing at him that nobody thought to help him pick it up (he was still sat on it as it hit the floor!).

A few weeks later, we'd stopped randomly to watch some trials (I was on pillion) and when he went to set off again, it overbalanced and went over. Some old boy in a woolly hat leaned over the wall and said "I think you'll get a 5 for that" (a section fail in trials). Bloody heavy thing to pick back up though!

I'll not mention the time I knocked it over in his garage whilst trying to move it despite not having the strength or ability to do so (I was only about 14). Pocket money took a bit of a hit after that
