Default Re: Petition against 'anti-tampering' legislation

Some more accurate information on the current status of this legislation, and some of the real problems, here.

If you're concerned about it a constructive approach would be to support FEMA, rather than signing up to e-petitions that are just plain wrong.

It will be a developement of the London clean air zone.It doesnt ban older vehicles,it just makes them pay a couple of hundred pounds a day for driving inside the zone.Currently applies only to diesals over a certain weight(?two tons)but could easily be extended to all vehicles.

Yep, it's connected to that - all EU countries have got targets for air quality. Most have problems in their big cities and are looking at different ways of dealing with it.

Excuse me? Unless you're a big delivery vehicle, "a couple of hundred pounds a day" IS effectively a ban so I'd rather it didn't get extended to cover all older vehicles. Well, unless your wallet is considerably fatter than mine.

Yeah exactly.Im not defending it,just saying what they are likely to do.I support the idea of signing these petitions, even the ones that get a bit of a slagging on here because I think any registration of objection to these do gooding interfering desk jockies is a shot across the bows to them. They rely on apathy to chip away at what we do,so sign away
