Yes it is the governments fault. Remember one thing. They might lead you to think they are all seperate parties, but they are all in the same bloody club!
Pass us another hat

And of course none of the blame should lay with the press at all?

If you actually listen to what the energy minister said on yesterdays breakfast news (I presume thats where this 'top up if you're below half a tank' thing is coming from) then thats definatly mis-reporting.

What he actually said was that if you are putting petrol in anyway, don't just put in the usual tenner, fill it up. This shouldn't encourage anyone else to go to the petrol station and queue if they weren't already, maybe it will mean that everyone already there takes an extra 2 minutes (but that doesn't cause whats happened).

Of course some of the blame lays with the government, just as some of it lays with Unite (and their backers), but there is no way you can say 100% with the government and not lay any of the blame with the Press who conveniently fail to mention that there has to be 7 days notice for strikes, so if you fill up now you'll probably have used all that fuel you put in before it becomes a problem.

(and yes he didn't acknowledge that putting the extra in might not be easy for those that only put in a tenner)

Blame the sheep and their media. Riding past petrol stations is getting hazardous now, people seem to be abandoning queue without really looking . Doesn't help that the shell has run out of fuel, but then again it manages that every month or so without needing panic buying.

Is it not the country at fault for going mental over it? The guy only said make sure you fill your car up with fuel. At least in a day or two garages will be quiet because everyone will be running round with full tanks.

Fully agree Tom, but remember this, there wouldnt be any panic buying if there wasn't gonna be a strike in the first place, unite love a good strike and it's no secret that's exactly how labour were in the 70's and 80's.

The media do have a lot to answer for though, the recession was made worse by them IMO.

this is a classic example of how the mindless self centred sheep that are called the general pubic believe everything they read or hear in the news.

It's called psychological messages. PROPaganda.
They don't have to be saying these things literally, but the audience receiving these speeches hear what they think they are hearing and compute it as..........sheeeeeep, must panic buy, must fill up coz its all gone tomorrow, they don't use their brains like some of us.

People who don't understand pedestrian crossing or elevator buttons should not be allowed out in public without a carer. They're the same people swallowing the media guff & storing gallons of fuel in their garages..

Don't get me started on that osborne guy and the hot/cold pasties issue. Greggs is ours, back off tory boy.

I made some sausage rolls for Mr LPH. I have told him I will bake one for him tonight for tea but I'll have to levy a charge. He's not happy.
