What happens in Reflex should stay there. Especially with evidence of Dave on Woo Woo

Very good thread, people are oblivious to what they're doing until it's too late.

Winds me up too. I've just accepted that the majority of motorists are inconsiderate and unaware (i.e. thick). There's not much you can do. I highly doubt the police would follow up on a mobile phone video a member of the public recorded, not to mention how hard that'd be to get while on a bike.

People will never change, no matter how much you winge or harass them or anything. They'll only change when they actually kill someone, or cause an accident and learn the hard way ... and then many people will carry on doing it anyway. Best not to be the person they hit, that's all I can say.

Nephew A biker for what it is worth, got done for videoing someone on their phone. He thought the offence was talking on the phone. So when he saw them he started videoing the evidence. Unfortunately for his £60 the cops saw him waving his phone whilst driving.

As painful as that must've been, it makes sense. Which reminds me .... reading and WRITING text messages while driving really winds me up. I will admit to occasionally whipping out my phone to read a text message when I stopped at lights. I may hear the beep and then I'll leave it in my pocket until I'm bogged down in stationary traffic, but I would never read one while moving and people who type them .... gahh ...

Yeah there was a truck driver on radio 2 many moons ago who got 3 points & £60 for taking his phone out of his shirt pocket and placing it on the dash even though it was turned off, it went as far as the home office referring to the oxford english dictionary definition of 'using' which was something like to have, to hold or to deploy.

It later turned out he could have appealed and most likely won, but he was outside of the time limit (6 months) so it went on to affect his pay grading and employment potential (or atleast that was his argument).

Don't forget the idiots who think putting their phone on loudspeaker whilst still holding it is hands free.
I seem to have a vendetta with phone users at the moment. Too many close calls.

Yes mate, I think you can appeal a lot of these things. Generally if you can justify it, the courts seem to let you off. An example being that guy who got a ticket for parking on a double yellow when he pulled over to give someone CPR! I believe he appealed successfully. Can't remember the news article.

It's as pointless shouting at people as trying to stop the sun coming up in the morning.

You'll get yourself all upset, the moron on the phone may turn out to be a psycho and try to really kill you.

They don't see me in a liveried car or on my job bike, so just give them a wide berth and carry on with your life.

(there now, I've done the PC thing)

Feckin idiots do my chuffing head in! Theres always an excuse too.

"ooh, I was checking the kids were ok, they're home alone and I'm in a rush to get there"

"I wasn't on the phone, I just had a really itchy ear and decided to scratch it with my phone" true.

"I wasn't on my phone, I just like the feel of it on my face" I kid you not!

Plus, it's always the first and only time they've ever done it!

Amazing how I manage to find some many virgins eh?

Male chickens the lot of 'em.
