How would it work? Are we talking a normal meet, but at a pub? Or going to a pub and having a few beers?

Presumably it's a lot like going to loomies but in a different location and with the possibility of a shandy and packet of pork scratchings.

WRONG! It's tucking the bike away for the evening and going to a boozer and having several pints and possibly a greasy kebab before getting the last train to where ever your from.

In that case I'd be a bit wary about tucking my bike away anywhere. I'd be paranoid that it'd get stolen.

Correct form is:-

1) Meet somewhere ---
2) Go for ride to nice pub--or meet at pre-agreed pub
3) Sit outside by river/field/model agency interview room and drink OJ while watching world go by--
4) ride home via convoluted route

The idea being you do something other than ride to Loomies and back!

However after a while you get fewer and fewer folks turning up and when they do it's in the car! It's just the way of forums unfortunately.

We used to have a fortnightly pub meet which started off being well attended then dwindled a bit and turned instead into a fortnightly pie meet which is no bad thing.

My calendar's a bit mad at the moment but while we have the light nights I'll try and arrange something unless someone else makes a decision before-hand. It's really not hard. Don't seek consensus, state a place and a time and those that want to come will come those that will never come will always suggest alternate times, locations, pie fillings etc and are best ignored anyway!

I struggle with pubs. I find it difficult to sit still and chat for too long. I'd probably be able to handle the model agency venue, but otherwise I get bored too easily. No slur on you lot. Ad (Spank) will testify to the fact I got bored of pubs about a year or two after I started getting served, and I never go out to any pubs anymore unless we are doing something (meal, bowling, pool, etc.). Will probably come out once or twice, but won't be a regular.

Beer garden sounds good.

I very rarely drink so I'm happy to ride. We can sit around and chew the fat with a nice cool drink instead of queuing for 20 mins at Loomies for a cup of tea.
