well the superduke got 9700 miles from it's first ultra and the speed four manages slightly more than that on the 3 it's had (both making significantly more power than an SV), but then being old I don't go very fast, but even so that's a big difference

i forgot to mention i had a couple of track days on the tyres aswell but that just scrubbed the edges up real well, the centres wore down so quickly due to riding in crap weather and the bike being on straight all the time i think , but even though they wore down a lot im still getting another for the rear off mine

I've always had Maxxis on my SV and could never fault them.

honestly couldnt tell you.

I do know I've had to replace tyres more frequently due to punctures (front and rear) rather than wear.

Sticking to one type very conservative.Not thought of trying something else just to see if they are as good as others say.

Well I'm on 600 miles now. Had no problems in dry or wet but I ride like a pansy. 99% of this mileage has been commuting. When I get to 1000 miles I'll let you know tread depth and if they are starting to square off. Got some massive chicken strips I could do with getting rid of

they suit my budget, my bike and my riding style I'm happy with them, if it's not broke dont fix it.

I've got a roadpilot 2 on the back just now - it was part worn and donated kindly to me after the peaks weekend but i've only done about 500miles on it so hard to make a decent comparison.

Ok nearly at 1000 miles.
3 rides in the dry totalling around 150-160 miles.
The remaining 800 ish miles done in the p1ssing rain with lots of standing water and oil and crap all over the road.

0 miles
Front = 4mm
Rear = 5mm

997 miles
Front = 4mm
Rear = 5mm

When first on I felt it took more effort to tip into a corner but think this might be the profile of the tyre compared to the old tyre. I have never had a problem with any tyre that isn't badly worn or cold when riding in the dry. These are no different. I'm not good enough to get to the limit of a tyre but I can say I wasn't concerned about grip no matter what the lean angle.

In the wet I have had the back end skip out quite a lot on the supercorsa's, even with very cautious throttle control. No such problem with the maxxis. They gave me much needed confidence in the wet. When rolling on the throttle exiting a corner I didn't have the clenched bum cheeks thing going on. My road smarts gave similar feel and confidence in the wet but I was a faster, more confident rider then.

I'm hoping they don't square off too badly with the commuting but will let you know.

Whoever said they last 2000 mes must have been doing a burnout at every red light.
