Not sure about your K3 but on my K2 Curvy the regulator rectifier is under the right hand side rear plastics bolted onto the sub frame.

On the K3 I believe its down the right hand side of the engine on the inside of the frame spar.

Yes, it's a bit of a bugger to get to as well, small hands and patience. you can import a FH20 rectifier from the states to fit, look on eblag, a bit dear but more reliable.
