Could always go for one of these, designed for the SV and something I'm going to go for eventually:

and you can buy speed kits and so on, I've heard really good things about them. Particularly handy for fork conversions where you don't wanna have the big bracket from an S model!

if you want to know all about them then head on over to svrider as they love doing stuff like this. personally i don't see the need plus the more hacking of the loom the more trouble your going to get.

I need the headlight unit to be closer to the forks! Hah. And the original unit is too big :/ any ideas on how to make it mount better or maybe somewhere else to mount it?

All I know is, is that the one I've linked is designed specifically to be wired into the SV cables, so in theory shouldn't be an issue. And they do speed drive kits which are definitely handy

Yeh I'm kinda liking the idea of them... Look better than what I've been offered too. Just got a new job so I think I'll just wait and get a proper vapor kit with the dash and stuff.
Can you find me the one that's for the Sv specifically?

The site seems goosed at the moment, but that link should send you half way down a product page which shows the one you need, I think typing SV650 into the search shows the speed kits too Didn't seem a lot of money for what it is as well
