Inbred is a nice bike. Nearly brought one. Toss up between that and the Ragley Piglet.

Doing alot of training rides now for the up coming London to Paris off road event at the end of June. What i have discovered is my Trek EX8 is to heavy for long distance work and my Pinnacle hybrid's 63mm of travel is just too uncomfortable. What i need is a very light weight hard tail with 100/120mm travel, good drive gear and breaks and under £1500 so i can use the cycle to work scheme. Toyed with 29ers but i'm unsure, i think good old 26" or possibly 650b.
So far im thinking

Boardman pro carbon, halfords say they might still have some but showing zero online
On one whippet, not as light as it should be and think the built ones come with pants brakes and wheels

any suggestions

I've been playing round the back of Tweasledown racecourse, upto No.1 reservoir, no real fixed routes but some generally decent tracks and not many dog walkers that far up.

Some of the hills and drop ins up towards sandy lane are rather intense.
