Do not dismiss history, times change people don't. The same mistakes are being made now tha were made 1000's of years ago and they will be made 1000's of years into the future......

Like some groups of Jews in the 30-40s, they used terrorist tactics but were apparently "freedom fighters", the ANC... the lesson obviously being something like history is written by the winners.

Not forgetting the biggest irony of all that these terrorists in Afghan are the same bunch that were freedom fighters a few years ago when we were supplying and training them to give Ivan a bit of a shoeing.

If you can't work that out I hope you never go to war.

There's rather a lot of international law devoted to that subject but to most laypeople (myself included) It ought to be obvious on a case by case basis.

A tank factory is a legitimate target, a gas cooker factory is not even if they supply cookers to the military.


A school bus or a marathon definitely isn't.

The Israeli Jews have committed atrocities on par with Hitler (another one who used Religion as ammunition). Jew's were the most persecuted religion up to around 1950.
People wonder why Iran (a Muslim state hated by Israel) is building Nuclear weapons, they aren't for offence its deterrent against a state that would press the "little red button"
