BTW Bibio, how exactly did you cut down the SV1000 snorkel? I thought it was a straight swap?

Dont like ear plugs, they err... block out too much noise

I dont like to ride with them but cant really explain why, just feels wrong, however I used a set of them headphones the other day (the ones that burrow into your ear) and I think I liked the reduction in noise, I might see if I can adjust to it and buy some ear plugs.

For the record I usually use bluetooth to listen to music.

Some after market exhausts don't really have a very good fill of sound deadening.
Easy to re pack them though.
The induction roar is just pop in the old one

Try an SV1000 with no airbox lid at all. That's a tad noisy.

A worthy read about airboxes and snorkels. A bigger hole isnt always better

Removing the airbox lid - pointless too unless you like the air flowing straight over the top of the airbox rather than filling it with air!

One of the mods on the RSV_R was to create a bigger air box byremoving the lid and sealing the tank to the lower part of the air box.
But a plastic tank and the v twin pulses are a bit intrusive

Mine was set up for the previous owner by JHS racing so I'd like to think they had some idea of what they were doing. It ended up with a BMC filter and an aluminium retaining ring that clamps it to the lower half of the airbox. All the foil and foam under the tank are removed.

Never had any issues with water, leaves, squirrels or anything else getting sucked in to anything.

No idea if it's better or worse than a standard set up for a K3 thou as it's always been like that while I've owned it but it goes like stink so I'm keeping it that way for now.
