I did my big bike lessons on a Yamaha gsr600. Nice bike but no torque until it was revving. Dull to ride too.

Like everyone said, it's a confidence issue.

You can either approach it with the "I'm aiming to barely scrape a pass" attitude, or "I am going to blat this, not put a foot wrong, and you as the instructor, are going to know it, and pass me because you can see i know what i am doing"

Think where you went wrong, ride your own bike, address those things. Nail it in your own time, get it as perfect as you can.

I resat the bike test just over a year ago, after 10+ years off big bikes. Yes, i have and had at the time, a full license, but felt i needed to find my feet again before leaping on a 100+ BHP bike, and riding off into the sunset. I found the Mod1 the difficult one of the two, so i think you're past the worst of it.

Nerves will always be a factor. Take 20-30 seconds sitting on the bike to get that out of your system, adjust your mirrors so you have to move your head slightly (makes the examiner aware you ARE using your mirrors) before you ride off, as little things like this will mean you don't get a minor for that little flick of the head to check your mirrors he just hasn't seen.

"I'm going to allow myself 10 seconds of panic and get it out of my system before i ride off" works for me, not sure if it'll work for you, but its a valid tactic to deal with nerves on the day. Gets it out of your system, and gets you confident before you pull out of the center.

I also failed first time. I cut a corner which is an automatic fail. However, that was the only thing the examiner found fault with. That meant that when I retook it 3 weeks later, I was confident that if I rode the same as on the first test (except not cutting corners) that I was pretty sure of passing.

If you can get more saddle time in then it's a bonus.
Just a little harder doing on a loan bike that you can't do the old "practice practice practice " thing.
But like you said. You were so close last time and a little bit better your have it sorted.
But learning to pass a test and ridding a motorcycle are quite different.
It's the first step on what can be a great journey.
