Hi there.

where abouts in Portugal are ya going ??? I was thinking of riding to Porto, through France and Spain. Do you have a good route planned you could share ??? I just used theAA.com website for my route so I don't know if it's any good !!

I was planning to go through the north of portugal, going to Lisbon (family) then going south to Abufeira (brother) then to silves (dad).
I say with my dad or brother as they always have a spare space for me. Beach, upto Monchique on the twisty road and other things.

I dont have a firm plan, just that i want to go through France & Spain. I was going to take 2 weeks from work which would make it a relaxed holiday without having to rush.

If i get lost i can always call family or try to rely on my GPS unit.

Finaly i think i am getting sorted to go.

Off between the 5th - 21st Aug.

Dover to DUNKERQUE, arrive early morning.
Do about 500miles a day, easy going with brake at lunch times due to high heat.
Enter through north of portugal and stop in Lisbon for a day then to Faro for the rest of the holiday.

I recently serviced the bike, had new rear recently but anticipate new front when i get to spain as its an M1 and has already done over 4k miles (still has good tread). Need to make sure i have spares of bulbs, pads, scottoiler, toolkit etc.. If i can source a gel seat before i go, umm. Wire up my bike with a acessory plug for my mobile & GPS.

Most important, work out why my bike sometimes does not start.

Still need to get some rear panniers & baglux bag. I have also reached my millage limit on my policy, so that will be extended from 5000 to 15000 to cover the rest of the year. Also get travel insurance.
