Thanks,
No problems at all with the handling, set up is standard. The forks have not been lowered, the LSL top yoke is thinner than the standard one. No weaving or tank slapping and you still have the wind protection. The bike is a lot more controllable at slow speeds, plus I can now get my feet flat on the ground which helps when my wife is getting on the back. Only downside is that it does not look as good as with the clip ons on and if you had big hands you would probably foul the mirrors on full lock and the controls are not in the best position the could be to get the clearances.
Fortunately bought the kit minus extended brake hose from a chap off the site who had had it fitted to his wife's SV but she could not get on with the SV and had to sell it

I got a ABM handlebar conversion kit mounted on my SV650S (2003 model). I love it!!! Have been riding with clip-ons for a while, but my back, wrists and arms began to hurt more and more each time I rode.

Have been looking at higher clip-ons also, but in my opinion it only gives a little bit of relief. A handlebar gives you a totally relaxed position. And no cutting in the fairing with the new model, which had to be done with the old model SV.

Alex, if you're willing to buy across the pond (Europe mainland), try eBay germany. Bought my kit there. The triple tree cost me 140 euro's (97 pounds) and I bought a handlebar and handlebar weights with it. Total cost were 206 euro's (142 pounds) including shipping.

I just saw that 'my' seller has a new "buy now" auction for the same price as I had, 140 euro's.

I do like those bars you've got, remind me of a set of tomaseli bars I had way back on my GS750.

I'd go for 2" angled risers myself.
Or originals from a nekkid. Flat drag bars with a little bit of a kink in them.
At first it was vague but after a couple days it was fine. Since it was a commuter bike I was just happy to have the comfort. If the bike didn't get stolen I would have tried some smaller risers. My 2002 (naked) has the SVS clip-ons and upper yoke.
