It may be me that hasn't looked hard enough. I was thinking of one of the flat inner panels at the front and centre of the fairing but I haven't gone as far as checking on access and fouling yet so it may not be as simple as I'm hoping. I may give it a try on Sunday and I'll report back if I have any success (or not!).

No, I'm afraid is the simple answer. I've tried wraping a clear plastic bag around it for the one time I was caught in the rain with the GPS but the screen becomes difficult to see.

I seem to remember Patch had a waterproof case, but it was horrificaly expensive.

I don't suppose any of you have tried a garmin "quest"

It has a bike adapter available and is waterproof.

there are too many waterproof GPS units available to be monkeying around with plastic bags

the units I recommend are the Garmin 176C or the newer 276C... they are designed for marine use, fast processor, bigger than average display, easy to hardwire, accepts standard memory module to keep all kinds of maps in memory

Otter have come out with a new box the 1900. It is designed for the modern small PDA's and will be a great solution for waterproofing a PDA on a bike.

The accessories (GPS Pod and vehicle mount) are not available yet but should be in February. I will be ordering one then.

The 3600 has been fantastic, usede in the worst weather you can imagine and over 20,000 miles now without issue. Its just a bit bulky

I bought a medion unit from Aldi last year which is a rebadged Navman PIN [just £150 cheaper!]. That came with a handlebar mount and a rainproof case which I haven't tested but looks the part.

Can't find the case on Medion's web shop but the leaflet that came with the unit has it as article number 40008755 - Outdoor carrying case and list's their phone number as 0870 727 0370
