I rode to Durham and back, freezing, windy, wet, and after getting lost in pitch black in the middle of no-where I was thinking how rediculous bikes really are. I need something bloody comfortable which means a car or a two-wheel armchair.

Really bikes are just a toy - they are not practical. If I felt f**ked after 100 miles what is it going to be like when I take it around Europe!

You need better gear mate... good waterproofs over leathers, or good quality cordura, keeps me warm and dry for hundreds of miles in the worst rain scotland's got to throw at us Though the wind can be a b****** sometimes. T Max'd probably be worse in the wind- more sail.

It's all better than crutches

That was with leathers and excellent waterproofs. £35 gloves and hands were num. I'm also sick of fastening panniers on for every journey.

See I need a car!

I think you do to be honest... or heated grips and HG Pathans.

You need a car, you need forks, you need a front wheel, you need disks.

Think you need to decide where your priorities lie. Only you can do that, then us lot will be more than happy to advise and help on what ya want to do. Otherwise you just go round and round in circles dreaming about various things.

Have a think chap.

Dan_SV, I'm doing the bike up in prep for sale. The SV is going. In its place will be a half-car half-bike; the Tmax.

Isn't the T-Max a moped? You can get a nice shopping basket for that........

Now, there's a whole other thread going to take the mick out of andrew buying a TMax. I can see the attraction personally, if you want bike get-about but don't like bikes much...
