Think it'll be an idea for another fork fest in the spring/summer as quite a few people have expressed a need to make the change.... Inc myself...

Actually, if anyone up in these parts wants to do it but needs a hand, drop me a PM and you're welcome to come over. I've got time on my hands just now I can't do much hands-on help at the moment but I can show you how to do it. Since nobody listens when I tell them how easy it is, I guess I should show 'em!

Actually, Jimmy's coming over to do his at some point, wait and see if I kill his bike first

Thanks for all the advice, I'll do the "sensible" thing and drop the fork legs out.

It's a bit late now as I've already got them but has anybody used Hagon progressive springs? If so, any thoughts/comments?

just wondering, from what I have read in the manual it says 488ml of oil in each fork but you can only get so close to that with measuring jug and when you pour it there will always some left in the jug. Alternativley in a write up it says to measure 125mm from the top the forks to the bottom to get your levels. How precise does reallly have to be be?
Also with the springs I brought Maxtons they have a large spacer will this effect the oil. Any thoughts

The Hagon instructions I have don't actualy state an amount of oil to add just an air gap of 140mm (forks depressed without springs).

The amount added will vary depending on the amount drained, I doubt that it's possible to get all the old oil out without fully stripping the leg.

Set the oil level, not the volume, the air in the fork is a very effective spring, so they both should be at similar air gaps so that the springing rate is as close as possible.
