Yep, same here. Didn't half 'twang' when it slipped out of my hand the first time I tried though

It is most definitely a specialist tool. Sorry.

In principle, there is nothing tragic in taking a pillion without
adjusting the pre-load. I once took a 14 stone bloke without
adjusting the pre-load and the only drawback was that the back felt
sluggish. Had to ride more carefully.

Surely it is not essential. In fact, I never adjusted pre-load for my pillions
until very recently when I decided to do things the "proper way". I took
the trouble of stiffening the rear by one notch but in the end it turned
out to be a waste of time: the prospective pillion chickened out. So now
I just keep riding solo with this slightly stiffer rear. Maybe it is the way
it should be given my weight (my wife claims I am fat).

You could also ask people who have recently written off their SV's.
This may sound a bit sick but if we find it acceptable to donate our
organs and receive organs from other people there's nothing morally
wrong in asking whether someone is prepared to sell a tool kit when
there is no bike left to complement it.
