Good hint: Tape the new cable onto the old one then remove the old one by pulling it out one end, this'll draw the new one right into the same position as the old one, dead easy.

Could you also grease the new cable at the same time as you are drawing it through?

Fixed it.
30 mins. Easy job. Remove saddle Lift tank Remove sprocket cover Undo the adjuster nut at the sprocket end Remove cable nipple at the sprocket end (there is a little retaining tab neat the nipple that needs to be bent so that you can remove the nipple) Pull the old cable out through the bike, noting the routing Feed the new cable through Connect up at lever end first Insert the adjuster into the sprocket end Replace nipple Adjust clutch Put it all back together. |
