might I suggest using 3rd or 4th of your push starting your SV,

in 2nd, likely the rear wheel will skid you to a stop

clutch drag will be high when the oil is cold, it should be a lot less when it's hot.

Try pushing it in gear when the engine is warmed up and see if it's a lot less.
