dunno mate I am on a K2 with a scorpion .
I just know it took me ages to fiddle and twist trying different combos to get the can near ebuff to use the bracket placed at the rear of the footpeg mount..

but- looseneing everything and having a play is agood stress reliever anyway so go for it !!!

Although the can itself is shorter than the suzuki standard can, it does still stick out quite far because of the link pipe. Mine was fitted by professional dealer and also sticks out like that and I have noted that others do too. So i think it may be normal. j

I have 1 fitted to my K5 and agree that it is shorter than the original but when everything is put together the end is about the same position as the original.

I just went with the parts that were supplied and loosely fitted everything up then twisted it into shape before tightening.
I also used a silicone adhesive sealant at both jointlines to ensure a good seal.

I am at work at the moment so can not give you any more details.

Thanks! GC-SV

Any chance you could let me know the part number of the link pipe you we're sent when you get back on your bike next?

It should be in the format CPxxx

Many Thanks!

Mark

OK Mark

Checked the bike and can see no markings on the link pipe.
Checked out the receipt and no info there.

So I went to the 2 off drawings that show you how to fit it.
the 1st drawing is titled:
SUZUKI
SV 650 K4
OVAL 2004
Its dated 15/12/04 and is Issue 1.

and calls for a connecting pipe CP-277
it also states that when refitting the original can to use CP-107A

The 2nd drawing is titled:
SUZUKI
SV650
Its dated 20/12/04 and is Issue 2.

and calls for a connector pipe CP-107.
it also states that when refitting the original can to use CP-107A

The problem is there not the same drawings, the 1st one shows you all the items required and the 2nd is showing you where to cut the original pipe.

So your bet is as good as mine.
The photos on your thread of the Black SV is exactly the way mine is. Is yours the same? If not there is a problem with the connector pipe. Assuming that everything is butted together and aligned correctly.

I bought mind through Diamond Motorsport they may be able to confirm the part no.
Tel. 01652 688111.

HTH.
