Seems par for the course, sadly.

Did they actually ring you (aside from the text) to let you know that they would be delayed, or did they say, 'We'll be there in 40 minutes' and only when you ring them after an hour when they've not turned up, give you the amended ETA?

Both times I've broken down they did this multiple times, despite after the first time me emphasising, 'if you're going to miss this ETA, you ring me, I don't want to have to keep ringing you up and re-checking the ETA when you miss each one'. Of course, they missed each ETA and didn't get in touch. I pointed out when they finally rang me to say they couldn't fix it at the roadside and it'd need a tow (not the case at all) that had they given an accurate ETA (even to within 2 hours!)in the first place, I could of just chained the bike up and gone home for the day. As it was I spent an afternoon sat on the pavement sweltering, only to end up having to go home and come back the next day anyway.

Only good experience of the AA I've seen was the chap who sorted
e. d.'s bike at the AR05.

I've had good experiences with the AA, but all because of individual patrolmen, nothing to do with the company at all.

I got my breakdown cover with the insurance from Carole Nash and can't fault them on the two times I need them

Day one chain broke they/their contractor gave me regular updates and
got the bike taken to a garage that fixed it PDQ.

The following day bike cut out. 1-1/2 hours later bloke got to me sorted (dodgy conectors in the charing circuit) it and sent me on my way

10 out of 10
