Why have a highly strung gutless 250 which will last about 2 weeks when all they really need to do is put the sv650 on a diet to make a really interesting plaything.

I had some wonderful years on 250s. I had a 250 superdream, and later a GSX250. They were both interesting bikes and seemingly massive after 125s for so many years.

this was my GSX250 covered in snow. I bought it non running and forgotten from someone's shed for 100 quid, fixed it, rode it for 2 years and sold it for £250..

In those days there were hundreds of ten year old 250cc bikes from 1979 when they made learners ride only 125cc I bought my superdream for £75 there were loads of bikes like that around really cheap..

Kawasaki KH250 1976...Bought brand new...The best 620 squid I ever spent!

The one shown lacks the passenger grab rail and the fine candy pinstripe on the tank and tail piece! Someone has also robbed the single front disc off the front! thinking about it this one is actually more an "S1" (I am sure Jonboy can confirm)Plus some nerd has dented the tank! Screaming 250's kicking out plumes of smoke when you screwing the nuts off it! Absolutely brill!

Must say, my only other encounter into biking before my DAS was an FS1E when I was 16, and a very brief affair with a "coffin tank" RD250 in 1979 until it got hit by a car while it was by the side of the road.

Was like this but blue, with black expansion pipes...
Lot's of noise and white smoke. Would love to do it all again....
